The Ivy Baptist Church Scholarship Ministry offers financial support to graduating high school seniors who are active members of the church. Through four distinct scholarships, we honor excellence in leadership, community service, and spiritual commitment.
Scholarship Opportunities & Requirements
To be eligible for the Ivy Baptist Church scholarship, the applicant must be:
- A member of Ivy Baptist Church for at least 6 months
- An active participant in a Church ministry
- A graduate from an accredited high school
- Accepted to a two or four-year college/university or trade school
An unofficial high school transcript and copy of the higher education acceptance letter must be included with the application.
The William Washington Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors in the Hampton Roads area with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Applicants must submit a 500-word essay with their application outlining:
- How he/she demonstrates an excellent record of conduct
- Leadership potential
- Civic and community involvement
The Thelma D. Stephens Scholarship is available for graduating high school students or college/university students who have been a members of Ivy Baptist Church for at least 6 months.
The applicant should be active in a church ministry or have community involvement through church, school, or outside organizations.
Applicants must submit a 250-500 word essay detailing how obtaining higher education allow them to impact their community in the future.
The Cocheyse Nicole Smith Private Scholarship is for graduating high school seniors who are current members of Ivy Baptist Church.
Applicants must submit a 250-word essay outlining the following:
- Community involvement (church, school, or outside organizations)
- Leadership potential
