Why the Emerging Leaders Institute Matters
Spiritually grounded, skillfully equipped leaders are essential for fulfilling our mission of loving God and one another through worship, discipleship, fellowship, and evangelism.
The Emerging Leaders Institute (ELI) is a leadership development initiative designed to identify, equip, and support the next generation of leaders within our church and beyond.
We don’t view leadership as a position, but as influence—rooted in service, shaped by Scripture, and empowered by the Spirit.
ELI exists because we believe:
- Leadership must be developed intentionally
- Church growth requires leadership growth
- Marketplace experience doesn’t always translate to ministry readiness
- A proactive, not reactive approach to leadership provides better results

Sessions are interactive and spiritually reflective, covering topics such as:
- Foundations of Christian Leadership
- Leading Self (Identity, Character, and Spiritual Discipline
- Leading Others (Communication, Feedback, Conflict, and Support)
- Emotional Intelligence & Self-Awareness
- Leading in Ministry Contexts
- Team Building & Trust
- Vision and Strategy
- Stewarding Influence & Power
- Biblical Models of Leadership
- Leadership Growth Planning
The program is designed for both those new to leadership and those with leadership experience in other contexts. We welcome applicants from all generations and backgrounds who are eager to grow and lead well.

Requirements to Apply
Applicants must:
- Be a member of Ivy Baptist Church
- Be actively and faithfully serving in at least one ministry
- Submit a completed application
- Participate in an interview process
